PG- M. Pharm

Master’s of Pharmacy Degree Course (M. Pharm)

Admission Process:

Admission to Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) is primarily through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) OR PGAT/GPAT entrance exam. The OJEE conducts the exam, and admission is based on the merit list generated from the entrance exam results. Management seats or vacant seats are filled separately. 

Duration of the Course: 2 years (4 semesters)

  • The duration of the M. Pharm course shall be of two academic years full time with each academic year spread over a period of not less than two hundred working days.
  • The study of M. Pharm course shall be of annual system which includes M. Pharm (Part-I) extending for 12 months from the commencement of the academic term and M.Pharm (Part-II) of another 12 months duration.
  • At the end of M. Pharm (Part-I) there shall be a university examination of M. Pharm (Part-I). At the end of M. Pharm (Part-II) the candidate shall submit a dissertation on the topic approved by the university.

Course of study:

  • The course of study for B. Pharm shall include the subjects, number of hours in a week devoted to each subject for its teaching in theory, practical and tutorial as may be prescribed by the Pharmacy Council of India from time to time.

Eligibility criteria:

A Pass in the following examinations:

  • Pharm Degree examination of an Indian university established by law in India from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India and has scored not less than 55 % of the maximum marks (aggregate of 4 years of B. Pharm.) along with OJEE/GPAT rank.
  • Every student, selected for admission to post graduate pharmacy program in any PCI approved institution should have obtained registration with the State Pharmacy Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of his/her admission, failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.

Note: It is mandatory to submit a migration certificate obtained from the respective university where the candidate had passed his/her qualifying degree (B. Pharm.)

Attendance and progress:

A candidate is required to put in at least 80% attendance in individual courses considering theory and practical separately. The candidate shall complete the prescribed course satisfactorily to be eligible to appear for the respective examinations.

  3. Pharmaceutical Analysis – 15 seats
  4. Pharmacology – 15 seats

Regulatory Affairs – 15 seats
