Department of Pharmaceutics offers a learning platform for the students in the areas of formulation development and evaluation of pharmaceutical dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, ointments, creams, injectables etc. There are three pharmaceutics laboratories in the department each specialising on a particular process. Senior and experienced faculty members train the processes to the learners in a practical way. The students get practical exposure in the processing of various pharmaceutical dosage forms. The key aspects of the laboratories are formulation, pre-formulation studies, development, evaluation, stability studies, and quality control etc.

The department is well equipped with instruments and machineries for various unit operations, including mixing, milling, drying, and packaging. Few of the equipment and facilities include UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, drying equipment, dissolution and disintegration testing equipments, digital balances, pH meters, microscopes, centrifuges, etc.

Machine Room

The department also has a Machine room equipped with industrial equipments in a pilot scale for the students. Some of the equipment and facilities include tablet compression machines, capsule filling machines, planetary motion mixer, grinders, tablet coating and polishing pan, sieve shaker, ball mill etc. The students get an opportunity to handle these equipments as a part of their learning process.
